Every person has a different view of what is valuable to them, and it changes as life’s experiences alter what is important.

Global Institute of Finance and Trust™ thinks that over time Wall Street has de-valued what is actually extremely valuable and often difficult to measure. Wall Street capitalism is focused on financial statements and growing earnings. Wall Street has focused on more money and material items. We think that valuation methodologies must change if the world is to be sustained. The fundamental basis for Wall Street is under scrutiny.

Global Institute of Finance and Trust™ believes that the securities market has incorrectly attempted to place values on assets and companies. With the beginnings of the subprime meltdown in late 2006, the world of finance changed forever. Trusting the value of a security was called into question, and we predict the securitization world will never recover. The Central Banks around the globe have attempted to provide liquidity to Wall Street, but the leaders of Wall Street failed to realize the difficulty in valuing investments and assessing risks. The derivatives and synthetic instruments represent trillions of dollars and very few people understand them. Wall Street has become too complex, and it must end.  The financial system that must replace it will be one based upon networks and connections built at the grassroots level, via trusted people throughout the world. Wall Street has become too sophisticated to prevail, and Internet Capitalism offers an alternative that will empower individuals across the globe.

The Internet is uniquely positioned to help make the goal of Global Institute of Finance and Trust™ a reality. Internet Capitalism builds upon trust in people. Trust needs to be restored in the financial markets and throughout the world. Global Institute of Finance and Trust™ thinks that the future depends on a community-focused approach to capitalism which builds upon helping one another and the planet.

Global Institute of Finance and Trust™ imagines a world that continues because all people work together focused on the value of qualitative measures in addition to financial ones. We have spent 16 years on Wall Street analyzing the value of companies. We believe that the valuation metrics used on Wall Street are flawed with their focus on the earnings. The flaws in the valuations on Wall Street are that they all assume companies can grow cash flows indefinitely. We are introducing a valuation methodology, Defining-Value™, which attempts to measure the financial value as well as the trust/qualitative value.

At Global Institute of Finance and Trust™, we are offering a guide to valuing companies that can be used as a tool to help with investment decisions. We want to know which companies are creating value and which ones are actually destroying value. In time, companies may change.

We are helping to value the global villages and cutting-edge cities to sustain the world. But we need your help, please read our reports to help you decide how to think about value and how to invest.
